MEET SHANE

We Can Do Even Better Together.  Are You Ready?

Shane was born and raised in Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana before attending The the University of Dayton, obtaining his Bachelors degree in 1996 and commuting to Indiana University for his Master of Information Science degree in '00.  Since then, he has spent his time as a librarian, a technology consultant, and a passionate advocate for childhood nutrition.

That passion to make sure that children in Ohio and throughout the country get the nutrition they need to succeed has caused him to take a deeper look at the root causes of poverty in America.  This quest for knowledge has led him to work for an America with an economy and justice system that doesn't reinforce poverty.  Intentional or not, our system is set to make poverty a life sentence.

He is an active leader having participated on many library, church, and community committees.  In 2017, he teamed up with several other librarians to create a team dedicated to getting libraries involved in anti-hunger initiatives.  He and his team have spoken around the state and worked with several groups advocating and implementing solutions.

In his spare time, he enjoys listening to classic rock, reading on a wide variety of topics, and dreaming of having a few minutes to go fishing.  He is blessed to be a son, husband, father and step-father.
